Guitar Hero II is a music video game developed by Harmonix and distributed by RedOctane, and is a sequel to Guitar Hero . The game was released first to PlayStation 2 in 2006, but later released for the Xbox 360 in 2007. Guitar Hero II challenges players to recreate the lead guitar portions of many rock music songs using a specially designed guitar-shaped controller (based on either a Gibson SG for the PlayStation 2 version, or a Gibson X-Plorer for the Xbox 360 version, or alternative a standard console controller.) As notes scroll down the screen towards the player, the player must hit both the fret buttons on the guitar controller and the strum bar at the same time in order to successfully hit the notes. Successfully hitting notes improves the player's performance in the game and also raises their score, while missing notes will reduce the player's performance, and a poor performance may end the song prematurely. Each song can be played at one of four difficulty levels, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert, that reflect the number of fret buttons used and the number and frequency of the notes to be performed.

There are 64 songs total in the PlayStation 2 version while there are 74 songs total for the later Xbox 360 version. The Xbox 360 version adds an additional 24 downloadable songs via Xbox Live Marketplace (bringing the total to 98 songs).

I see a lot of people turning off the assists before they are really ready to move on, though, seemingly to impress folks on the internet with their supposed driving skill and undoubtedly to stroke their own ego, but then they crash a lot and struggle and get frustrated. The game only features single player and includes none of the great multiplayer modes of the PC version, which is disappointing, but the single player campaign is among the very best you’ll ever play so it is still absolutely worth picking up. Fight Night Round 3: Very, very easy to earn all 1000. SICK level achievements will frustrate you.. Rockstar Table Tennis: Pretty easy to get most of the points, and a blast to play online. Fun game, but not good for easy points. Top Spin 2: Most of the points are earned in single-player.Forza 2 Tips and TricksTip #1: Check Your Ego At The DoorOne of the best things about Forza 2 is that there are a ton of options to adjust the difficulty to ensure that anyone of any skill level can enjoy the game. Rumble Roses XX: Achievements take forever to unlock and you’ll get tired of the game quickly. Please, don’t do this. Skating around huge urban environments and graffito-tagging everything in sight is great fun, and Jet Set Radio Future does it with amazing cel-shaded graphics and a great style. Command and Conquer 3: Not too terribly difficult, just time consuming. Blazing Angels: Earned by playing through the game, but it isn’t all that fun. It is very thorough and well put together and will teach you everything you need to know. Full Auto: Just play through the game to get most of them. You only earn about 70 playing through normally. For fans of the first game and newcomers to Ninja Gaiden alike, Ninja Gaiden Black is an amazing game that deserves a spot in any Xbox owner’s collection. Don't bother. Prey: You get 600+ points just playing through the story missions, and since you can never die it is insanely easy.
